Ian Freebairn–Smith comes to us from a long and eclectic career in the world of music, from classical to popular, jazz, choral music, and new music. Weekday mornings Ian brings us the greatest classical music of the last 1,000 years, from Gregorian Chant and Hildegard von Bingen to Rimsky–Korsakov and Steve Reich, without inane commercial interruption. That’s five hours of complete immersion in the love of classical music.

Ian has extensive experience as a composer and conductor in film and TV, and is a Grammy Award–winning arranger. He continues his career as a composer, both in film and for the concert hall, and as a performer, singing with the Doc Severinson Big Band and working steadily in the motion picture industry as a session vocalist.
